Clean Electric: Accelerating India's EV Revolution with Next-Gen Batteries

Clean Electric, founded in 2020 by IIT-BHU graduates Akash Gupta, Abhinav Roy, and Ankit Joshi, is redefining energy storage for electric mobility. The Pune-based startup focuses on addressing key EV challenges—charging speed, safety, battery lifespan, and cost—through its proprietary battery technology and thermal management systems.

At the heart of Clean Electric’s innovation is their direct immersion liquid cooling architecture, where cells are fully bathed in a non-flammable dielectric coolant. This design dramatically enhances heat dissipation, enabling ultra-fast charging—0 to 100% in under 12 minutes across universal charging stations—and ensuring superior safety by reducing fire risks. It also extends battery life by minimizing thermal stress over hundreds to thousands of cycles.

Their flagship product suite, branded under “0 Kelvin™” technology, is engineered for compatibility with existing charging infrastructure and designed to support two- and three-wheeler EVs, with future ambitions extending to cars and buses. These batteries are already undergoing real-world testing with OEMs like Bounce Infinity, showcasing practical adoption and pilot-scale validation.

Clean Electric has attracted strong investor backing, securing seed funding led by Kalaari Capital and subsequently a Series A round with support from Info Edge, Pi Ventures, and Lok Capital, enabling the establishment of manufacturing facilities in Pune. The startup currently produces thousands of battery packs monthly and is scaling operations.
