Denza, a prominent player in the electric vehicle (EV) industry, merges the technological prowess of BYD with the prestigious heritage of Mercedes-Benz. Owned predominantly by BYD (90%) and Mercedes-Benz (10%), the brand sets itself apart through its relentless pursuit of innovation and excellence in performance.

In the initial quarter of 2024, Denza achieved remarkable sales figures, moving 10,279 units. Their latest masterpiece, the Denza Z9 GT, aims to elevate their standing even further within the EV sector.

Anticipated to make its global debut at the prestigious Auto China exhibition in Beijing on April 25, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) in China has provided a sneak peek into the Z9 GT’s features and specifications.

This groundbreaking EV boasts a trio of electric motors, with one situated at the front, delivering an impressive 304 bhp, while a pair positioned at the rear churn out 318 bhp each, culminating in a staggering combined output of 939 bhp.

Global Ambitions: BYD’s Vision for the Z9 GT

BYD harbors ambitious plans for the Z9 GT, intending to introduce it to markets worldwide, with a specific focus on a European market debut slated for the upcoming year.

Performance and Power: Unmatched Capabilities

Though specific acceleration metrics remain undisclosed, reports suggest that the Z9 GT can achieve a remarkable top speed of 240 kmph. However, its substantial weight, tipping the scales at 2,875 kg, surpasses that of several luxury SUVs.

Cutting-Edge Battery Technology

While details regarding the battery pack remain under wraps, industry insiders anticipate a significant capacity, leveraging BYD’s renowned Blade design. The Z9 GT’s dimensions underscore its commanding presence, measuring 5,180 mm in length, 1,990 mm in width, standing at 1,500 mm tall, with a wheelbase spanning 3,125 mm.
