Uravu Labs provides sustainable water solutions by producing drinking water from air using 100% renewable energy sources like solar or biomass. Their key offering includes atmospheric water generators (AWGs) for commercial use, especially in off-grid or water-scarce regions. They also supply branded “FromAir” water to hospitality and beverage partners. Uravu’s systems are modular, scalable, and eco-friendly, requiring no groundwater or plastic packaging.
Founded in 2019 by Swapnil Shrivastav, Pardeep Garg, Venkatesh RY, and Govinda Balaji, Uravu Labs is a Bangalore-based deep-tech startup on a mission to reimagine water infrastructure for a climate‑resilient future
Entrepreneur.
Recognizing that half the global population faces water insecurity, the team developed a groundbreaking atmospheric water generation (AWG) technology that extracts moisture from the air using proprietary liquid desiccants like silica or calcium chloride.
The process works in three key steps:
Adsorption: Desiccant materials absorb water from ambient air.
Heating with Renewable Energy: Solar energy, biomass, or industrial waste heat is used to release the absorbed moisture as vapor.
Condensation: The vapor is cooled and condensed into pure, mineral-rich drinking water
This modular, scalable system can function entirely off-grid with minimal environmental footprint and no reliance on groundwater.
Uravu Labs has already made significant inroads in the hospitality and beverage sectors—branding their offering as “Water from Air” or “FromAir” and partnering with notable clients like AB InBev, Radico Khaitan, The Leela, Royal Orchid Hotels, and Roxie restaurant.
Their sustainable water solution is cost‑competitive—around ₹2–4 per litre, significantly lower than similar alternatives (₹15–25).
Uravu’s impact speaks volumes: to date, they’ve conserved over 2 lakh litres of groundwater and prevented thousands of tonnes of single-use plastic from use Their growth is noteworthy—crossing 1 million units sold, with deployment across 80+ brands and 100+ outlets in Bangalore alone.
Investors have taken notice. In March 2023, Uravu raised $2.3 million in seed funding from JITO Angel Network, Anicut Capital, Speciale Invest, Rocketship.vc, and others to scale its operations and commercial deployments.
In July 2025, they secured strategic investment from ENRISSION INDIA CAPITAL to drive further innovation in climate-resilient water infrastructure.
A pivotal partner in their journey has been the Marico Innovation Foundation (MIF). As part of MIF’s Scale‑Up accelerator since January 2023, Uravu received mentorship in quality control, SOPs, compliance, and production optimization, resulting in dramatic gains—300% production rise, 70% fewer bottle breakages, 60% lower bottling labor costs, and enhanced energy efficiency.
Uravu Labs stands at the intersection of innovation, sustainability, and practical impact—offering a compelling solution to the global water crisis, especially for regions with limited traditional water access.
