Recently, a variety of electric vehicles, both cars and two-wheelers, made their debut in India. One notable addition is the 2023 Tata Nexon EV facelift, offered in two versions: MR (mid-range) and LR (long-range), with prices ranging from Rs 14.74 lakh to Rs 19.94 lakh (ex-showroom). This revamped Nexon exhibits a more refined exterior design and an enhanced interior. Drawing inspiration from the Tata Curvv concept, the exterior transformation encompasses redesigned DRLs, headlights, and front fascia. The upgrade also features a revised front bumper, now housing bi-functional LED headlamps and showcasing a fresh wheel design.

Tata Nexon EV

The refreshed Nexon, considered one of the top SUVs in the industry, showcases a more streamlined exterior design and an enhanced interior. Drawing inspiration from the Tata Curvv concept, the exterior makeover encompasses redesigned DRLs, headlights, and front fascia. This Tata Motors offering has undergone a significant upgrade, featuring a revised front bumper that now houses bi-functional LED headlamps and a fresh wheel design.

In terms of its rear aesthetics, the car has received a fresh bumper design that seamlessly complements the connected tail lamps, rounding off the exterior enhancements.

Shifting our focus to the interior, which remains consistent across the Nexon lineup, the facelift introduces several notable features. These include a two-spoke steering wheel, a touch-operated FATC (Fully Automatic Temperature Control) panel, a generous 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, height-adjustable front seats, ventilated seats, wireless charging capability, a sunroof, rear AC vents, advanced connected car technology, and more. It’s worth mentioning that the EV version boasts a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

When it comes to safety, the vehicle is equipped with an array of protective features, encompassing six airbags, a 360-degree camera, ABS with EBD (Anti-lock Braking System with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution), a reverse camera, front parking sensors, ISOFIX seat anchors, 3-point seatbelts for all occupants, electronic stability control, auto-dimming rearview mirror, and more.

Delving into performance, the MR version produces 129 hp and 215 Nm of torque, while the LR variant steps it up with 145 hp and 215 Nm of torque. Notably, the MR model has experienced a 30 Nm reduction in torque compared to the LR version, which has seen a 38 Nm decrease. Additionally, the vehicle offers three distinct driving modes: Eco, City, and Sport.

BMW iX1

In a rather ironic twist, the BMW iX1 stands out as the most expensive Electric Vehicle (EV) to make its debut in September, yet it also claims the title of the most affordable BMW SUV, priced at Rs 66,90,000. The iX1 offers an impressive 440-kilometre driving range and comes loaded with the top-tier features one would anticipate from a luxury vehicle.

BMW has unveiled the luxurious iX1 electric vehicle in India, priced at Rs 66,90,000. This BMW model comes in an array of appealing paint options and offers interior customization with upholstery choices. It also includes a two-year unlimited kilometer warranty, extendable to five years through the Repair Inclusive program, along with an eight-year or 160,000-kilometer warranty for the batteries. The iX1 boasts a lithium-ion battery integrated into the car’s floor, providing a substantial range of 417 to 440 kilometers, and it supports fast charging, making it highly convenient.

Under the hood, the iX1 incorporates fifth-generation BMW eDrive technology, delivering 313 hp and 494 Nm of torque for swift acceleration and a top speed of 180 km/h. The vehicle features an intelligent all-wheel-drive system, numerous safety features, and advanced BMW ConnectedDrive technologies. Inside, the iX1 impresses with its BMW Curved Display, ambient lighting, and a wealth of high-tech features, offering a perfect blend of luxury, performance, and cutting-edge technology in a stylish package.

mXmoto

mXmoto, an up-and-coming player in the field of eco-friendly transportation, has launched its mXv ECO scooters, emphasizing both cost-effectiveness and performance. The scooters are attractively priced, with the 80-100 KM/Charge variant starting at INR 84,999 and the 105-120 KM/Charge variant at INR 94,999 (both ex-showroom). These scooters are equipped with a robust 3000 Watt BLDC Hub Motor, which includes a 580 rpm rim, a substantial 140Nm of motor torque, and an impressive 98% conversion efficiency.

The scooter is powered by LiFePO4 batteries, renowned for their exceptional quality, efficiency, and performance on a global scale. These batteries stand out for their top-tier safety in battery technology, enabling them to store a remarkable amount of energy relative to their size and weight. This breakthrough enhances electric scooters, providing extended range and prolonged riding times, making them ideal for daily commutes and longer journeys.

The mXv ECO is further equipped with a 3000 Watt BLDC Hub Motor, a 580 rpm rim, 140Nm motor torque, and an impressive 98% conversion efficiency. Developed in India, this motor delivers powerful performance with swift acceleration, complemented by the robust torque of the C35 magnet separations. Additionally, the scooter features a 38 AMP high-performance controller with regenerative braking. Its detachable batteries are equipped with safeguards against overcharging, preventing excessive voltage levels that could lead to overheating or worse. The mXv ECO also boasts a dynamic LED headlight designed to adapt to various road conditions, ensuring optimal illumination during both day and night, prioritizing rider safety. Notably, these electric scooters are equipped with a robust 2400-watt motor, enabling them to achieve swift acceleration from 0 to 40 km/h in just 2.99 seconds.

They are powered by a 72 V lithium-ion battery that can be fully charged in approximately 3 to 4 hours. Electric One claims that the Astro Pro model offers a certified range of 100 km on a single charge, while the Astro Pro 10 variant provides a slightly longer range of 120 km. Furthermore, with the Adventure S battery option, the Astro Pro 10 can extend its range to an impressive 200 km. Initially, the Astro Series electric scooters will be available for purchase in select states, including Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, and Assam, with plans for expansion to more than 20 states in India in the future.
